Lip blush adds a soft wash of color and can make the natural lip border look more even. The appointment includes more than applying pigment. We first decide whether the service fits your lips and your goals, then plan the color and shape before beginning the procedure.
This is the process used at Frenkel PMU House in Leander.
1. Consultation and color selection
We start with the result you want. Some clients want a shade close to their natural lip color. Others want more visible warmth or definition.
Your artist looks at the natural lip tone and undertone before mixing the color. The first session is usually planned conservatively because more depth can be added later. You review the plan before the procedure starts.
Clients with naturally dark or uneven lip pigmentation may need a different treatment plan. Dark-lip neutralization is a separate service with its own color strategy and may require more than one session.
2. Numbing
At our studio, a topical numbing product is applied before the procedure and may be reapplied during the appointment. Comfort varies from person to person. Tell the artist about sensitivities, allergies, medications, or medical concerns during the consultation so the studio can advise whether the service should proceed.
3. Mapping and pigment application
The artist outlines the lips to balance the shape without creating a hard lip-liner effect. You review the outline before pigment is applied.
A permanent makeup machine places pigment in controlled passes. The complete studio appointment is listed as approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, including consultation, numbing, mapping, and application. Confirm the current appointment length when booking.
4. Immediately after the appointment
The lips may look brighter and more defined than the color you selected. Temporary swelling can also change how the shape looks. This is the fresh stage, not the final result.
The studio provides aftercare instructions before you leave. Follow those instructions and contact the studio if something looks or feels different from the recovery guidance you received.
5. Healing and the perfecting visit
Light flaking can occur during the early healing period. Do not pick the treated skin or add products that are not included in the studio's instructions. The color can look uneven or faint before it settles.

Common questions
What if I have a history of cold sores?
Tell the studio before booking a lip procedure. Lip tattooing has been associated with herpes simplex reactivation in published medical literature. Ask your physician whether any preventive treatment is appropriate for you. The studio cannot prescribe medication or replace medical advice.
Does lip blush work on mature lips?
It may be an option for mature clients who want more visible color or a softer-looking border. The artist still needs to assess the lip tissue, medical history, goals, and existing asymmetry before recommending the service.
When can I wear lipstick again?
Keep makeup off the treated area during the studio's healing window. Follow the aftercare instructions you receive at the appointment and ask the studio before restarting lipstick or other lip products.
