healing, done right

Before & Aftercare
Instructions

Your result is a partnership: our artistry, your aftercare. These are the same instructions we hand every client at the studio — follow them and your color will heal soft, even, and beautiful. Jump to your treatment: Brow PMU · Lip PMU · Brow Lamination · Lash Lift · Brow & Lash Tint

Eyebrow PMU (nano, combo & powder brows)

Before your appointment

  • No physical exercise on the day of the procedure
  • No alcohol or caffeine for 3 days before
  • Do not wax, tweeze, or tint your brows for 3 days before
  • No sunbathing or tanning for a month before
  • Avoid aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil, and ibuprofen for at least 3 days before (check with your doctor first about any prescribed medication)
  • Stop retinoid skincare near the brows at least 1 month before
  • Sensitivity can be heightened during your menstrual cycle — plan around it if you can

After your appointment — the first 10 days

  • About 4–5 hours after the procedure, gently cleanse the brows with a cotton pad and distilled or boiled (cooled) water, then let them air-dry — this helps minimize scabbing
  • After that: no water, cleansers, creams, or makeup on the treated area
  • Do not rub, pick, or scratch — let any dry skin exfoliate off naturally; picking causes scarring and pigment loss
  • No pools, jacuzzis, saunas, long hot showers, or heavy sweating; avoid gardening, dusty environments, and close contact with pets
  • Try not to sleep on your face
  • No direct sun or tanning for 3–4 weeks; no facials or tinting for a month
  • Excessive redness, swelling, or tenderness lasting more than 1–2 days? Seek medical care

Lip PMU (lip blush & dark lip neutralization)

Before your appointment

  • Same rules as brows: no exercise that day; no alcohol or caffeine for 3 days; no aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil, or ibuprofen for 3 days; no tanning for a month; stop retinoids near the lips a month before
  • Prone to cold sores? Talk to your doctor about starting an antiviral a few days before your procedure and continuing a week after — this one matters

After your appointment

  • Keep lips moist at all times with the balm we provide
  • No water, cleansers, creams, or makeup on the lips for 2 weeks
  • Do not rub, pick, or scratch — let dry skin exfoliate naturally
  • Drink through a straw until fully healed; keep spicy and salty foods off the treated area for at least a week
  • No pools, saunas, long hot showers, or heavy sweating for a week; no facials for a month; avoid sleeping on your face for 2 weeks
  • No direct sun or tanning for 3–4 weeks
  • Once healed, a lip product with SPF keeps your color from fading early

Brow lamination (brow lift)

Before

  • Arrive with clean brows — no makeup, oils, or skincare residue
  • No waxing or tweezing for at least 24 hours before
  • No retinol, AHA/BHA, or exfoliants near the brows for 48 hours before

After

  • Keep brows dry for 24 hours — no showers over them, saunas, or heavy workouts
  • No makeup or skincare on the brows for 24 hours
  • Brush brows into place daily; a nourishing brow oil or balm keeps the hairs healthy
  • Skip exfoliants and retinol near the area for 3–5 days

Lash lift & tint

Before

  • Arrive with clean lashes — no mascara or eye makeup; no waterproof mascara for 48 hours before
  • Remove contact lenses for the appointment
  • Do not curl your lashes that day

After

  • Keep lashes dry for 24 hours — no water, steam, sweat, or makeup
  • No eye-rubbing or face-down sleeping
  • Skip mascara for 24–48 hours, and avoid waterproof formulas long-term to protect the lift
  • A lash serum or light nourishing oil keeps lashes strong between visits

Brow & lash tint

  • Before: come with clean, makeup-free brows and lashes; keep the area oil-free that day; tell your artist about any allergies or eye sensitivity
  • After: keep the area dry for 12–24 hours; skip pools, saunas, and steam the first day; avoid oil-based or exfoliating products near the area; re-tint every 3–6 weeks to maintain

For the long term (all PMU services)

  • Having a facial, chemical peel, or laser treatment? Tell the technician about your permanent cosmetics first
  • Retinoid and acid skincare near treated areas fades pigment early — route them around your brows and lips
  • SPF is your color's best friend once healed
  • Your perfecting touch-up at 4–12 weeks ($190) is a standard part of every PMU service — and an annual refresh keeps results at their best
