A permanent makeup touch-up is not automatically necessary for every client. It is a separate perfecting appointment that may be recommended after the initial service has fully healed and the artist can see how the pigment settled in the skin.

When refinement would be beneficial, the appointment is normally scheduled 4–12 weeks after the prior session. The price is $190 and the appointment is booked and paid for separately.

Why the healed result makes the decision

Fresh permanent makeup is not the final result. Brows may look darker and sharper, lips may look brighter or warmer, and eyeliner may look stronger immediately after the procedure. Flaking, temporary lightness and uneven-looking stages can also be part of normal healing.

The artist evaluates the fully healed result, not the fresh result, before deciding whether color, shape, density or a small detail should be refined. Adding pigment too early can lead to unnecessary density and makes it harder to judge what the skin actually retained.

Why one client may benefit and another may not

Some clients retain pigment evenly and feel satisfied after the initial service. Others may have a light area, softer retention or a small design detail that would benefit from a perfecting appointment. Neither response means the procedure was automatically successful or unsuccessful. Skin heals individually.

Retention can be influenced by:

  • Skin type, including oil level, pore size, texture and maturity
  • Natural healing response and metabolism
  • Sun exposure and regular sunscreen use
  • Skincare products and treatments used near the area
  • Lifestyle, including swimming, sauna use and frequent heavy sweating
  • How closely the provided aftercare instructions were followed
  • The service, color direction and amount of definition selected

What can be refined

  • Brows: a light area, soft tail, small gap or modest density adjustment.
  • Lip blush: an area of lighter retention, border softness or color balance after healing.
  • Dark lip neutralization: the next stage of a gradual color-balancing plan, based on the healed response.
  • Lash enhancement or eyeliner: a small gap, density adjustment or subtle shape refinement.

A perfecting appointment is meant to refine a suitable healed result. It is not an opportunity to completely redesign the shape, make a dramatic color change or cover unsuitable previous permanent makeup at the touch-up price.

Touch-ups for work by another artist

The $190 perfecting appointment applies to eligible work completed at Frenkel PMU House within the recommended window. Permanent makeup performed elsewhere must be assessed as previous work, because the pigment, technique, depth, shape and treatment history are different.

Send clear, makeup-free photos before booking. Depending on what remains in the skin, the recommendation may be a new service, a correction plan, more fading time or removal. Work performed by another artist is not automatically eligible for the Frenkel PMU House touch-up price.

What to expect at the appointment

  1. Your artist reviews the healed result and listens to what you noticed during healing.
  2. The current shape, color and retention are assessed before any pigment is added.
  3. Only the areas that would benefit from refinement are planned.
  4. Aftercare is reviewed again so the refined area can heal properly.

Frequently asked questions

Is the touch-up included in the initial price?

No. The perfecting appointment is booked and paid for separately at $190.

Does everyone need a touch-up?

No. One perfecting appointment is a common first-cycle planning example, but it is not a requirement or a promise. The healed result determines whether additional refinement would be useful.

Why should I wait 4 to 12 weeks?

The skin needs time to recover and the pigment needs time to settle. An early light or uneven phase does not always show the final retention.

Can I change the shape completely at the touch-up?

A perfecting appointment is for refinement, not a complete redesign. A larger change requires a new assessment and may be priced as a new service.

What happens after 18 months?

After 18 months, Frenkel PMU House treats the appointment as a new procedure so the skin, color and full design can be reassessed.

Can I get the touch-up price for work by another artist?

No. The $190 rate applies to eligible Frenkel PMU House work within the recommended window. Previous work from another artist is reviewed through our corrections and previous PMU process.

If your Frenkel PMU House service has healed and you are within the recommended window, book your perfecting appointment. Not sure? Contact the studio and we will look at the healed result and guide you honestly.
